Slyvka Larysa Volodymyrivna was born on April 6, 1964.

Higher education: in 1985 she graduated from the Ivano-Frankivsk State Pedagogical Institute named after V. S. Stefanyk in the specialty «Pedagogy and methods of primary education» (with a diploma, the qualification «teacher of primary classes» was assigned).

 Work experience:

‒ teacher of the extended day group at secondary school No. 3 in Ivano-Frankivsk (1985‒1986);

‒ kindergarten teacher in Priozersk, Kazakh SSR (1986‒1991);

‒ librarian at the scientific library of Vasyl Stefanyk Prekarpathian National University (1991‒1994);

‒ pedagogue-organizer, deputy director at secondary school No. 12 in Ivano-Frankivsk (1994‒2007); for several years in a row ‒ head of the Ivano-Frankivsk city methodical association of teachers-organizers; the initiator of the creation of student self-government at school No. 12, the developer of its structural and organizational strategy and the implementer of the corresponding practical activity; based on the experience of cooperation with fellow teachers and student self‑government of the Salezjański Ośrodek Szkolno-Wychowawczy w Tarnowskich Górach (Poland), Larysa Slyvka started an innovative ‒ plot-training-educational ‒ form of organizing school holidays.

In 2004, she started working at the Department of Theory and Methodology of Primary Education of the Pedagogical Institute of Vasyl Stefanyk Prekarpathian National University.

In 2010, she defended her dissertation for obtaining the scientific degree of Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences on the topic «Folk traditions in the education of a healthy lifestyle of younger schoolchildren of Western Ukraine (1919‒1939)» by specialty 13.00.01 – general pedagogy and history of pedagogy.

In 2013, she was awarded the academic title of associate professor.

In 2023, she defended her dissertation for obtaining the scientific degree of Doctor of Pedagogical Scienceson the topic «Theory and practice of health care education of students of secondary schools in Poland (20th ‒ beginning of the 21st century)» by specialty 13.00.01 – general pedagogy and history of pedagogy.

Since January 2024, she is a professor of the Department of Primary Education (later, the Department of Primary Education and Educational Innovations).

Educational and methodical activity

 During 2004‒2024, she developed educational and methodological complexes for a number of educational disciplines studied by students of specialty 013 Primary education, namely: «Methodology of teaching the basics of health in primary grades» (2012‒2018); «Childhood Ecology» (2014‒2023); «Fundamentals of natural science» (2015‒2024); «Pedagogy of health care» (2016‒2024); «Preventive education of primary school students» (2023‒2024); «Foreign practices of health-preserving apprenticeship education» (2023‒2024); «Safe educational environment» (2024); «Prevention of bad habits in primary school» (2024).

Actively cooperates with the scientific and methodological center «University of the Gifted Child», which is a structural scientific division of the Science Park of the Vasyl Stefanyk Prekarpathian National University.

Scientific activity

Field of scientific interests: health education; formation of health care competence of children and youth; implementation of a safe educational environment; professional training of future primary school teachers for health-preserving education of students; foreign experience of health education of students; basics of natural science.

Slyvka Larysa Volodymyrivna is the author of 120 scientific papers, 14 educational and methodological manuals, 2 individual monographs, manages the student problem group «Health Pedagogy».

Organizational activity

Head of the natural-mathematical and art-technological subject sections of the department’s teachers.

Faculty manager-methodologist of industrial (pedagogical) practice in health care facilities.
